Quota International, founded in 1919, is one of the oldest international service organizations for women. Wanda Frey Joiner, invited to a Kiwanis ladies night party in 1918, was inspired by the friendship and service opportunities available to and enjoyed by men. Since membership was not available to women, Wanda organized a group of women executives in her city of Buffalo, New York. On February 16th, 1919 this group of five women incorporated an organization that would become international. Wanda Frey Joiner was the first International Quota President. Today, membership also includes men and youth in North America, South America, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
